The Cronkite Global Initiatives Event Assistant will provide support to the Cronkite Global Initiatives Event Team by performing data entry, filing, copying, writing, event set-up, and strike, communicating with clients, guests, and vendors, and using social media and/or other marketing. The successful Cronkite Global Initiatives Event Assistant applicant will be organized, flexible, able to work in a fast-paced and fluid environment; have an interest in international affairs and be sensitive to, and tolerant of, cultural differences. Activities are performed in an environmentally controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, keyboarding and manipulating a computer mouse; required to stand for varying lengths of time. Regular activities require the ability to quickly change priorities, which may include and/or are subject to resolution of conflicts. Must clearly communicate to perform essential functions.

● Past experience with administrative/office functions and/or events to provide administrative support including general office work.
● Assist with scheduling of Wednesday excursions for Humphrey Fellows.
● Assist with promotion and marketing for the Cronkite Study Abroad programs, including attending events to support these programs.
● Assist with social media and photo/video management of Cronkite Global Initiatives and their projects.
● Assist with event set-up, in-event operations that may involve lifting and moving furniture, cleaning, post-event clean-up and take down.
● Assist with event marketing and RSVP collection for special event activities or projects promoted by Cronkite Global Initiatives or its programs.
● Be able to effectively communicate with event vendors to include, but not limited to, caterers, equipment rental companies, florists and venue management professionals.
● Assist with various record-keeping duties as it requires and relates to various Cronkite Global Initiatives grants and projects.
● Candidates must be detail oriented, accurate, and able to work in a team environment and have basic computer skills.
● Ability to work occasionally at both on and off-campus venues.

Arizona PBS, part of the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism, is seeking candidates to fill the position of Office Aide to support member services, viewer services, and assist with special projects. This position will work directly with the general public, faculty, students, and staff. You will need good customer service skills to successfully answer calls and return member and viewer correspondence. Professionalism, commitment, punctuality, and customer service is of the utmost importance.

This position operates a multi-phone line, general office, and building support. Office duties include computer work, customer service, phone calls for our membership and programming departments. When work on-premises resumes, this position is may assist in general building/room maintenance, such as cleaning inventory, stocking supplies, event assistance and other duties as needed. This position is year-round, including summers. An ideal candidate would have availability between 9:00 AM and 4:00 PM, including some Friday availability for Spring/Summer 2021.

Varsity Sports Show is pleased to announce a paid internship opportunity for Cronkite students: Soph-Graduates. See job descriptions below. Fall youth, high school, and junior college football coverage. Fifteen (15) hours weekly. Must have own transportation.
-Camera Operator
Canon XA model cameras used during livestreaming of sporting events. Communicating with site producer and adjusting angles/views as necessary throughout sporting event. Includes assisting with set up and take-down of broadcast production at each event, working with sideline reporter throughout broadcast and providing action close-ups during sports broadcasts as well as wide-angle. Assist with edits of show content pre/post-production virtually.
-Producer
Site producer for sporting events. Coordination of set up and take down of broadcast equipment at sporting events, managing the sound mixer and computer, managing the livestream software and camera placement throughout the sports broadcast. Assist with edits of show content pre/post-production virtually.
-On-air talent
Providing play by, color analysis or sideline reporting of sporting events during sports broadcasts, live and taped interviews with fans, coaches, participants. Assisting with set up, testing, and take down of broadcast equipment. Content contributions also for Saturday morning radio, youtube, and tv programming. Assist with edits of show content pre/post-production virtually.
